My soul you can have it.

Just a quick "hello, how are ya" from me today as I'm sneakily writing this up before leaving work for dinner (read: buffet, and thus pure joy). I haven't had that much time to take photos recently, so you'll have to do with these ones which were taken a few weeks ago. This is Odeonsplatz, which is in the centre of Munich, and home to my favourite Starbucks in town. I've wanted to photograph it ever since I saw Sarah's photos from her visit, but when the opportunity finally arose it decided to rain; some things never change. And, on that note, tempura's calling my name, but I'll be back with my last few Munich posts and more to say soon!

Okay, I'll admit it, these photos are complete rip offs of Carmen's and Anni's, but when you have somewhere this cool literally just outside your office (one of the conference rooms is just to the left of these photos), then it'd be silly to not use it to your advantage. Or I'm just getting lazier when it comes to finding somewhere to take outfit photos. And, let's be honest, it's probably the latter.

I used to be a real Topshop girl when I was a student and rich (i.e. either had a part time job or a loan, plus student discount), but since its prices have risen and they add a good 15% for the novelty of paying in Euros, I've found myself looking further afield. My mum got me this blouse for christmas, and I've been saving it for a special occasion of sorts, so when the sun decided to shine I thought it was about time I debuted it.

In less sartorial news, I've managed to drag myself away from bed to get to the office to use their wifi as the router at mine's been playing up. Again. I would mind significantly less if Lauren and I hadn't decided to drink a lot of cocktails and end up in Atomic Cafe till closing time and I'd managed to get more than four hours sleep. That's dedication to getting myself into a blogging routine, if ever I saw it. I didn't choose the thug life, the thug life chose me.

Countdown: two weeks. Yesterday I checked-in for my flight home, had a quick phone interview and generally stressed even more about moving home before cooking dinner, and trying (in vain, I add) to relax a little. Thankfully it's May Day tomorrow and Germans celebrate it on the day itself so we're heading out for Nina's birthday and I can't imagine anything better than spending a day away from my computer screen.

I believe voting ends for the Company blog awards tonight too, so if you fancied voting for it's cohen in the "best personal style" section you'll have to do so soon!

You know you've been talking to Kavita too much when you order a pair of frames like these ;) If you're a long-time reader of It's Cohen/a long-suffering friend, you'll be more than aware of my love for novelty sunglasses with normal outfits. This Persunmall pair is no different, and I can see them coming with me in many a beach bag and festival rucksack - yes pals, you're going to have to be seen with me I'm afraid. I think I've managed to tone things down with a completely monochrome outfit and a slick of red lipstick this time, and I didn't receive too many odd looks from my colleagues as I rolled up to work that morning.

Recently things have been getting a little stressful as I try to sort out how I'm going to transport everything I've accumulated back to the UK, cancel phone contracts and bank accounts, and just generally everything involved with ending a job. The perfect way to take the edge off things and forget about it all was with roughly twelve hours of solid drinking at Frรผhlingsfest (think Oktoberfest, but with less tourists), and finally found the excuse to wear my dirndl! I'm feeling a little sniffly as a result, but there really is nothing better than getting involved and going on fair ground rides in traditional German dress, and don't tell me that there is.

And, if you're feeling particularly reckless today, I'd appreciate a vote in the "best personal style blog" at the Company blog awards. I don't expect a look-in in the slightest, but it would be nice!

One sure-fire way to amaze your international colleagues is by turning up to work with a beehive. I'm always impressed when the spanish flip one of their potato-saturated omelettes with ease, the french make perfect crรชpes on three hours sleep and a hangover, and the swedes manage to look effortlessly cool despite them living out of a suitcase. Us brits? Grab a can of hairspray and arm yourself with bobby pins. Even though I'm not proud to let this particularly messy day serve as an example, it certainly cheered up a few of my friends on an otherwise grey morning, and it's always good to brighten someone's day.

And it justifies bringing a massive can of hair spray to another country, right?

Well, it's not every day you get a backdrop like this. Gone are the days of the wall and and my old flat's roof, we've moved on to mountains. Unfortunately, this isn't going to be a permanent feature as Munich tends to be on the flat side comparatively, but it makes for a nice change. When Lauren came back from a business trip last Thursday we reluctantly came to the realisation that Zurich simply wasn't going to happen in such a short time, so we looked closer: Innsbruck. Despite very nearly reaching Austria for our christmas party, I'd never quite made it over the border until we managed to snap up return bus tickets for €16(!!) and began winding our way down the German autobahns towards a lot of snow.

I didn't really know much about Innsbruck before we got there (and, in all honesty, I'd hardly call myself a tour guide now), but I'd recommend giving it a visit if you're ever in the area for the views alone. I probably said it more than enough times to annoy Lauren, but I just couldn't get over how you could see mountains poking out from behind the supermarket, between buildings, and just generally everywhere - spot the girl who comes from the flattest place in the UK. We spent most of our time exploring mainly by foot, aside from getting the cable car from Nordkette back to the centre of town. As regards touristy things, we spotted the goldenes dachl right in the centre of the altstadt (Maximilian I knew about bling long before Joey Essex), and also explored the Hofkirche, which had a pretty interesting way of telling Maximilian's life; I don't want to spoil it just in case you go, but don't skip the presentation as it's worth it.

We went just for the day, getting a coach that left Munich at 7.45, and returning by 10pm and think we'd managed to exhaust Innsbruck's possibilities. I've heard that Salzburg has a lot more to it, but I really enjoyed my first Austrian experience, with Vienna remaining on my "top places I'd like to visit" list - one day!

ps, if you like my top, you can buy a £50 Petit Bateau voucher for £25 on Vente-Privee. I wasn't asked to share this at all, but I think it's a pretty sweet deal, so thought you'd like to know!

pps, I purposefully went out of my way to use title lyrics of an Austrian artist. So enjoy "Loving You is Easy" by Camo & Krooked.

For some reason these photos have been sitting in a draft unused since February, so I decided that I might as well publish them while I've got a free morning. This is such a "get up and go" outfit for me, namely due to it requiring minimal effort and still looking put together enough to fool people into thinking that I didn't just snooze my alarm too many times that morning to do anything other than grab whatever happened to be at the top of the clothes pile. This top is the only scuba item I have, and I'm thoroughly disappointed by this trend due to its lack of snorkels; it's false advertising. I do, however, quite like the shape, its structured style hiding all manner of bread-based sins, and it's got slightly more to it than a normal white t-shirt. Add some boots and fedora, and who would know that I'd ran to catch the U-bahn that morning?

In contrast, this morning has been spent in my pyjamas booking my flights home and wishing there was an easy jet version of a costa card/they'd give me a free loyalty cuppa on the flight. The rest of my day will probably involve several cups of tea I've had to make myself (I know, what a chore) as I've come down with a horrible cold, certainly not the way I expected to spend my day off work. Hope you're all having a good Good Friday with considerably less germs than I've got!

Don't forget to enter to win a pair of Michael Kors sunglasses!
