Pussybow blouse: c/o Monsoon. Vintage suede skirt: £8, charity shop (similar). Clarks sandals: Cloggs. Ralph Lauren sunglasses: Sunglasses Shop. Rimmel Kate Moss 08 lipstick.

The Seventies called, it wants its wardrobe back. As someone who's unfortunately gifted in the brassière department (trust me, it's not as fun as TOWIE would lead you to believe), there are loads of styles which I thought were firmly 100% out of the books for me, pussybow blouses being one of them. Frills on top of all that? I don't want to look like a back to front stegosaurus. All hope was not lost, however, when I spied this lil number in Monsoon whilst my friend was present-shopping on Oxford Street - its silky shape, paisley fabric and subtle tie-neck make for some throwback style I can totally get on board with. Teamed with one of my best charity shop finds (suck on that price tag, AC for AG), this might just sway me from sixties-dressing. Just the once...

PS, love Hadleigh's weird (and unexplainable) obsession with sheep. Those books are classics in the making.

Primark colourblock top: £13. American Apparel skirt: £30. Clarks leather loafers.

This skirt + wind ≠ a good combination. Mind-bending maths aside, these photos were taken four months ago in very thick tights weather, saving myself from much embarrassment. Heybridge Basin is one of the places I like to go when it's all getting a "bit too much"; pretty much untouched since it was built, there are beautiful coastal walks with views over Maldon, plenty of dog-walkers and an amazing Tiptree tearoom with malteasers cheesecake for afterwards.

Maybe I should get myself back to Heybridge Basin sometime soon as I've been a little out of sorts for the last few months. Things I'd normally let bounce off me and then forget about have been taken to heart, I've not been sleeping well, and generally things have been a bit difficult to deal with. I'm banking on longer days and sunnier weather to help with keeping my chin up, but if anyone has tips on how to take a step back please do leave a comment as I'd love to hear how you guys do it.

Hello, my only one.

The Kooples leather jacket. A-line skirt: c/o Fashion Union. Oasis Lily knit: £3, via sample sale. Vintage bag: gift from Jazmine. Clarks loafers. Vintage tippet: £1, charity shop. Jana Reinhardt and Topshop rings.

It's pretty chilly out, isn't it? Where I live we had a grand two minutes of snow yesterday, but that doesn't mean the air was any kinder. With clear blue skies and the bitter winds which accompanied it, my mum and I headed out for a bite to eat and sat in a cosy sunbathed corner looking over rolling countryside. This does sound incredibly picturesque (it was, and the food was good), but that did mean wearing two coats to counter the length of the sparkly mini skirt and having flushed cheeks even in one of the rare moments I hadn't done anything embarrassing, I promise.

This week looks set to be a good'un. From dinner with work at Dishoom to a belated birthday bash with my babes at Sushi Samba (if only that started with a B too), I've got plenty of excuses to not let blue Monday get to me tomorrow, because if a formula is telling me I'm going to be sad, I'm going to try with all my might to make sure that it's the best day ever. Take that science.

Try to set the night on fire.

Topshop tweed oversized blazer: £27. Topman black tee: £8. Sugarhill Boutique polka dot trousers. Faux fur pom hat: c/o South Beach. Rotary watch: gift. Clarks loafers. Pale lips: winter.

We're definitely not in Munich any more, but it's just as cold. Putting things down to being a December baby, I always used to say that during the winter months I'm in my element (geddit??), but as time moves on and my ability to buy sensible clothing escapes me, winter's turning into that annoying friend you had from school that pops up and long outstays their welcome - we've just got to deal with this one for the next four months. Despite this, there are still a few little wintry nuggets that I adore, and fireworks are one of them. As someone who doesn't have pets or small children, bonfire night is one of my favourite celebrations after Halloween, obviously, rubbish ghost trains included. Last weekend I popped down to the park to watch pyrotechnics set to the most cliché playlist ever (it included "Burn", although they avoided Perry's "Firework" - probably because they forgot - so I've decided to include my own as a blog title too), changing my loafers for wellies as it tipped it down.

I've got a busy week at work coming up which I can't wait to share with you on instagram so make sure you're following! To make up for this, I spent the weekend with J Rox drinking in east London (however odd that SW Londoner found the experience), eating brunch and getting sassy at a Nicki Minaj dance class, then heading out for "one drink" back in Essex (every time, Rebecca. Every. Time.) and am now staying in my pyjamas for as long as feasibly possible before tomorrow's alarm. Long live the non-moving weekend.

I'm not gonna diss you on the internet.

Primark's game is strong right now. When I headed to Lakeside I picked up a fair amount of their AW14 offerings, including this beautiful check print coat which I'm sure will become a blogger favourite before the season's up as we do tend to have pretty good taste. Inspired by Caroline's simple styling (and a niggling hangover), I paired my new wonder-coat with my faithful Ridley jeans and a sweatshirt that's just made for Sundays spent make-up free in the gym.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of loafers ever since I saw Alexa Chung in those Russell and Bromley loafers, and have been through my fair few pairs bought from ebay. As I'm the kind of girl that'd rather walk two tube stops than suffer underground, I'm rather reluctant to drop a small fortune on a pair of shoes which will last me a year at most, so instead started shopping around: cue Clarks. Since those chunky heeled boots that everyone had in year nine, I've only had one pair of shoes from there, but while wandering around their Oxford Street store whilst waiting to meet friends for pizza (what else is new here?) I couldn't help but pick up a pair. Even if they are particularly painful to break in, I can tell already that these are going to be an all-weather staple.

Right now I'm catching up on everyone else's blogs whilst Sunday Brunch is on in the background and my tea brews (such a classic mix of Essex and Liverpool, as you can see above!). Sometimes it's nice to have a Sunday completely switched off, even if it doesn't happen all that often!

My girl's got a city to run.

Vintage leather jacket: £17.50. Brandy Melville trouble maker t-shirt: €26. Topshop leopard print skirt: £38. Clarks two-tone sandals. Autumn Bloom small tote: c/o Cath Kidston.

As Fashion Month draws to a close, I'm just getting around to posting the one London Fashion Week event I went to - maybe I'm stuck in the past or maybe I'm rationing the rare times I get to take photos, you pick. I decided to shy away from Somerset House again this season in favour of spending time with friends, working and, you know, sleeping, but when an invite to Lulu Guinness' party popped into my inbox I did think it'd be the best way to dip my feet into my favourite fashion week of them all. Of course I did my best to represent the British high street in my usual way with a little pop of Cath Kidston print, vintage leather, Clarks not-school-shoes sandals and good ol' toppers (after heading to an embarrassing amount of stores to try and get this bloody skirt), although my favourite Brandy Melville t-shirt did end up muscling its way in somehow. It was amazing to finally meet Clare after we started our blogs around the same time, as well as spending the evening doing something outside of the ordinary - even if we did leave early to make sure we could get to Nando's before it closed!

In more current news, it's finally starting to feel like Autumn. I haven't actually ventured outside today as that means finally accepting that it's time to do something, but from the breeze sneaking its way through my slightly open window things definitely feel chillier. Autumn's my favourite time to dress for, said every blogger ever, but it does mean that I can leave my bronzer alone for the next six months as everyone else looks pale too - hooray! And, sorry if it's a sore spot, I managed to get my first ever Glastonbury tickets, so I'm starting to mentally prepare myself for the mother of all festivals: I. Can't. Wait.
