I felt you and I knew you loved me.

Blouse: £6, vintage via Ark. Denim circle skirt: £28.50, American Apparel. Denim jacket: £63, Hobbs. Scarf: £1, charity shop. Shoes: 50p, Russell and Bromley. Jewellery: gifts. Belt: 20p, charity shop. Bag: gift from Jazmine. Lips: Topshop Mischief.

Considering it had been on my must do list since I found out you could, it took me till my last week in Liverpool to go to the top of the Anglican cathedral and see the city from its blustery heights. Somehow managing to stay on our feet, Sita, Amy and I headed up there on a clear day and gave our fair city a farewell from above. It's so odd to see where you live (cue "I can see my house!!" shouts) from such a different angle, but it doesn't half make me miss it when I scroll through all my photos. Perhaps a beehive wasn't the best idea for going somewhere so exposed, but after a trip to the toilets, past an Emin, we managed to snap these outfit photos in the beautiful grounds. The graveyard there is quite different to Père Lachaise which I visited last Wednesday, but the stone-lined passageways tell their own stories. I guess that's a bit of an odd (if perhaps relevant) last outfit post from Liverpool, but it shows how varied the city can be - from green Sefton Park to cool, steel shop fronts. Although I miss it and its perfect locations, I guess you'll have to make do with some Isle of Wight and Paris based posts for now!

Silky collar tee: £18, American Apparel. Shorts: £69, Carven via Cricket. Denim jacket: £63, Hobbs. Shoes: 50p, Russell and Bromley via ebay. Satchel: Stylistpick. Watch: Rotary. Necklace: gift. Phone case: 99p, ebay. Lipstick: Topshop Mischief.

Who could possibly resist matching their nail varnish, phone case, and location? Magazines like to call it a "pop of colour", but I tend to call it a coincidence that Jazmine pointed out as we were strolling down Rodney Street. This isn't the most exciting outfit ever, I know, but I don't wear new things every day, and as this is one of my typical everyday outfits it only makes sense to document it.

Although this was photographed in Liverpool (one last one coming for you soon), I'm back home in Essex and acclimatising myself to the Southern temperatures and no internet (sob!). Everything's a bit up in the air at the moment, what with trying to move house, trying to find a job, and trying to learn how to draw on symmetrical eyebrows, but I'm sure we'll get there at some point. In the meantime I'll be sure to content myself with plenty of orange juice and afternoons spent reading the books I never got round to in the garden. I hope you've all got a lot planned for this weekend, let's hope it stays sunny!

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling.

18 and East playsuit: c/o fuse fashion. Angora jumper: £6, M&S, via charity shop. Bag: £4, vintage. Shoes: £22, Russell and Bromley, via ebay. Watch: gift, Rotary. Bracelet: gift. Rings: gift and vintage.

I'm not sure quite what's happening, but I think I'm going to need sunglasses. If you read any British blogs, you may have heard that summer may be just round the corner, and we're all rather excited by the novelty of it. I may not be a fan of my legs (go to the gym, Rebecca) but it was necessary to strip off the tights, and leave the house with a spring in my step in the prettiest 18 and East playsuit from fuse fashion, perfectly made for this kind of weather. To celebrate and send me off northwards for the final time, my friend
Harriet and I visited A Cherry On Top, a café we'd both walked past countless times, but never really tried out. Despite it definitely being brunch time, we both opted for cake instead of eggs benedict, which is probably the best morning decision I've ever made. Although those meringues do look good too...

Life is simple in the moonlight.

Geometric print blazer: £15.30, Warehouse. Body: £2, Primark. Easy jeans: £35, American Apparel, via asos. Hat: gift, Marks and Spencer. Bag: French Connection. Necklace: Vintage. Ring: £3.50, Topshop. Shoes: 50p, Russell and Broley, via ebay.

It's a bit odd to revisit these photos! Taken when it was quite windy (understatement, I'm clinging onto my hat to stop it from flying off into the nether), to showcase my persistent love for anything navy and oxblood on my old camera, in jeans I've since had to retire (sigh), and a necklace I'm pretty sure I've lost, but they weren't taken entirely in vain. This is just a quick post to say that you may have noticed me excitedly share on twitter and facebook that I'm currently featured on H&M's online source for inspiration, which I guess you could call a blog. If you'd like to read the rest of it, and see me placed alongside Tinie Tempah probably for the only time in my life, you can read it here.

Regarding, you know, life, I'm back in Liverpool this evening, and probably heading straight to the library to finish up an essay that's due on Tuesday, which realistically means having a cuppa on the sofa and waking up early tomorrow. It may be the final term of my degree, but that doesn't mean I don't like leaving things till the deadline - I obviously won't ever learn!

You lift my heart up when the rest of me is down.

Green blazer: Glamorous. Scarf: £8, ebay. T-shirt: Topman (old). Embroidered skirt: £14, Primark. Bag: French Connection. Shoes: 50p, Russell and Bromley, via ebay.

Sunday heralded snow for Liverpool. Heedless of this, Clarity and I headed a few stops along the northern line to Crosby, for a wander along the seafront. Normally a destination for summer days, we were certainly very chilly as we headed further up the coast, taking shelter in a pub for a bite to eat, giving us strength for the homewards walk. Crosby's shore is lined with sculptures of iron men looking forlornly across the Irish Sea, a little eerie in the January fog, but a pull for tourists (and students!) nonetheless. Antony Gormley's Another Place was installed to showcase the North's natural beauty, and brought us out to an area of Merseyside that neither of us had ever had the intention of exploring beforehand. Admittedly I hadn't the foresight to wear sensible footwear (well done coco), and they've since left a sandy mess in my bathroom, but Clarity had a good paddle on my behalf! But right now I'm snuggled up on the sofa in our living room with a rather large mug of tea, Amy applying for jobs, me writing articles and designing pages for Ellipsis, feeling a lot warmer, and pretty content before exam stress rears its ugly head.

Navy lace dress: c/o Pussycat London. Navy cardigan: mum's. Horse belt: Primark. Ballet flats: 50p, Russell and Bromley, via ebay. Saddle bag: vintage, via Claire. Tartan scarf: £8, ebay. Watch: Rotary. Sailor coat (finally sewn back together!): £63, Topshop.

Whenever I have to do the (two hour round...) walk to the Post Office to pick up parcels, I always feel obliged to travel the scenic route along the canal. I've taken outfit photos here a couple of times before, but can you ever really have too much of a pretty thing?

Wearing my new Pussycat London crochet dress, with a(n admittedly bumpy) beehive and slick of lipstick, I felt rather ladylike for a few hours. Surreal experiences aside, it is also seriously comfy when you're wrapped in your duvet surrounded by a textbook fort, which is a common occurrence right now. I hope you're all sniffle free and enjoying your advent calendars!

Ghost jumper: £56, J.W. Anderson x Topshop. Silky collar tee: £18, American Apparel. Leather skirt: £8, Oxfam. Two-tone flats: 50p, Russell and Bromley, via ebay. Brown frame bag: £3, vintage. Ghost ring: Greggs!

Remember when I said I wouldn't buy anything using the extra student discounts in town? Surprise surprise, it didn't happen. The J. W. Anderson for Topshop collection launched a while ago and, for those who aren't aware, this is deemed by the fashion industry to be a Pretty Big Deal. Based around basics, the capsule collection promotes high fashion for those with smaller budgets. In my opinion, £70 for a jumper isn't cheap, but with 20% off I convinced myself that it would be just about acceptable to add this little number to my jumper collection. And it has a bloody ghost on it - who could resist? It's nearing the end of October, which signals my favourite holiday - hallowe'en. Among other reasons (which I will, inevitably,  arrange in a bullet-point list at some point), I look forward to this autumnal event due to Greggs pulling out all the stops and making fairy cakes with free rings. I may not be their intended audience, but I ensure I get at least one every year; please tell me I'm not the only one who does this?

Ignoring baked goods, however painful it may be, life has been b u s y. But the best part, without doubt, is seeing my little blog featured on The Tab's frontpage! Speaking to Rachel (my interviewer) is what convinced me to get involved, but I'd love it if you clicked the image below and read what I have to say about scouse style and student shopping

Wintertime winds blow cold the season, fallen in love, I'm hoping to be.

Ralph 5132 Sunglasses: c/o Sunglasses Shop. Fuchsia silk top: 75p, East via charity shop. Floral print trousers: £13, H+M. Two-tone black flats: 50p, Russell and Bromley via ebay. Multi-coloured bag: gift, Marks and Spencer. Denim jacket: £63, NW3 by Hobbs.

Liverpool doesn't seem to understand seasons; one minute you're wearing a cardigan, tights, and some unintentionally nineties inspired grunge hair (i.e. slicked down with the rain), then you wake up the next morning to discover weather like this. You don't need to take an Open University course in Understanding the Weather (I know someone who has) to realise that the jumpers can stay inside for a day or two more, and head for something a little more summery instead. I, personally, am not one to spend a lot of money on sunglasses, feeling that I spend more than enough on contact lenses and my "seeing specs" to make up for it, and instead choose to raid charity shops until I find ones that my friends roll their eyes at. However, when Sunglasses Shop - the designer sunglasses retailer based just down the A127 from me - got in contact, I thought that maybe it was about time I looked after my peepers a little bit more than I had done previously. In all honesty, I cannot fault them: they fit my face (however silly it sounds, it's quite difficult to find a pair that don't make me look like an insect), are a flattering colour, and I like the subtle cat-eye shape. They also earn bonus points for turning up really quickly, which is handy for those who are rather impatient.

I'm still library blogging (sigh), between readingreadingreading for my dissertation, going to the gym (!), and undertaking a fair amount of projects in the hope that I may end up doing something productive when I graduate next summer. One thing that I'm rather happy to say is I'm now officially the fashion co-editor of The Tab Liverpool, so expect to hear plenty from me over there for the next few months.

Third year: come at me.

When you touch my hand and talk sweet talk I got a knockin' in my knees and a wobble in my walk.

Floral print Lizzy dress (worn as top): c/o Motel Rocks. Denim shorts: Fat Face. Denim Jacket: £63, NW3 by Hobbs. Coral belt: c/o Clothing at Tesco. Heart-shaped sunglasses: £2 h+m kids. Skull bracelet: £11, Made via ebay. Black ballet pumps: 50p, Russell and Bromley via ebay.

I wore this outfit the other day, when pushing my hair behind my ears and getting stuck into InDesign, putting together pages for the University of Liverpool's magazine, Ellipsis - such a glamorous lifestyle! To escape the confines of my room, I went for a little walk across the fields near where I live, with my good friends John, Paul, George and Ringo. Maybe I've spent too long away from reality - I'm wearing double denim! I never thought I'd see the day, but I'm surprisingly a fan of this look - opinions? This top was a gift from Motel Rocks as I'm a member of their Street Team (you get 20% off with the code "itscohen"!), and I adore its not-too-girly floral print. It comes up a little big, so I'd recommend sizing down.

This past week has involved a considerable amount of rest and recuperation (not counting a rather eventful last night out in Essex pre-third and final year, but that's perhaps a story for another time). Last night I had a few friends over for Domino's, chick flicks, and pink wine - nothing beats a sleepover! Apart from fudge cake, and I may possibly have made plans to get some with friends early next week...

Happy August Bank Holiday!

I hope you've all had a relaxing day off? Today, my mum, brother and I headed off to Maldon to sample scones (big surprise), avoid the Essex Lion, and prove the theory that it will always rain on this day of the year. I picked up a couple of charity shop bargains, before battling through the elements towards Promenade Park for afternoon tea. It wasn't a high-adrenaline, activity-filled day, but it was exactly what I needed on my day off. With only one more week of my PR internship left, I'm looking forward to a little slice of summer fun, in the guise of Brownstock Festival and London Fashion Week. Daily life in East Anglia has been most welcome, but the allure of the North West is tangible, and I can't wait to move into a new flat with one of my closest friends. However much I love being home for the holidays, you just can't beat a little bit of change!
