Urban Outfitters smock dress: £58. Laura Ashley trench coat. Dolcis pink loafers: c/o Brantano. Topshop lace trim socks: £3.50. Luella clutch bag: £67, via ebay. Rotary watch: gift. Brandy Melville "thug life" necklace: €6. Michael Kors sunglasses.

As I put this outfit on, it kind of felt like I was dressing as myself a few years ago. Considering I used to wear it all the time, it's surprising that this Urban Outfitters dress has only once made it into a blog post. When I received these dusky pink loafers in the post I immediately thought of this dress, and had a quick browse through Charlie's archives for a little bit of rainy day outfit inspiration - certainly beats the lazy jeans and stripy tee combination I was initially planning on, doesn't it?* My style has developed into something of a uniform recently, reflecting the early starts and late nights perhaps a little too much, perhaps. Appreciate the cheeky #tbt (...w) to my Chung lovin' days, and don't expect to see so much pink again for a long, long time.

Seeing as I haven't talked about ~life for a bit on here, I guess we're due a catch-up. I'm currently interning at Oasis (think social media, copywriting, creating online content, etc.), so please do tweet me your blog posts if you've worn their stuff and I'll get pinning! Other than that, it's been a bit quiet as I haven't planned any last minute trips to the other end of the country. Instead I've been meeting up with blogging babes Jazmine and Megan, as well as getting myself a little bit too acquainted with Winchester cocktails on a Saturday night. However, I did book hotels for my friend's hen party and wedding on Monday night, so I'm looking forward to exploring a few more northern cities at the end of the Summer. Until then, I'm staying in the South East, and I'm going to just have to deal with staying in one place for more than a few weeks at a time (send help).

*A result of me having lost my jeans. I'm going to have to admit my floordrobe's got a little out of hand...

Looking at these photos shortly after closing your window due to the chill is a bit of an odd contrast, isn't it? Here's hoping the sun comes back by the end of the week as forecast, as my pins are slowly but surely starting to resemble something other than milk bottles.

After work, my mum and I decided to go for a stroll through the park to make the most of not being on a train/in the office/it not raining. Despite having lived here for a good decade, I've never really wandered round Admiral's Park, having tended to stick to the bits nearer to town, and thus nearer to Topshop and M&S. For this particularly sunny occasion, I donned my sunflower shorts (again) and my now go-to bag from Cath Kidston, which the lovely team presented me with after my two weeks interning at their Head Office, and it's definitely come in handy over the past fortnight. I was unsure whether to post these photos as I'm well aware that I'm not the size 6 lithe fashion blogger that saturates and is most successful in the blogging world, but in the end I decided it would've been a complete waste of time taking and editing these photos to have even more self-confidence doubts, and it's hardly new to you if you've ever seen the front pages of rubbishy celebrity gossip magazines. So, enjoy the cellulite guys, I'm off to watch the cricket.

Pineapple print maxi dress: c/o Sugarhill Boutique. Levi's denim jacket: mum's. H&M x Marni heels: £70 (similar). Alexa Chung for Made skull bracelet: £11, via ebay.

As far as first maxi dresses go, this isn't just dipping your toe territory, but going the whole damn hog with added pineapples. When I received the lovely Sugarhill Boutique parcel from my postman, there was a moment of trepidation as I wasn't sure if it'd suit me, but give it fifteen minutes to quickly take it up a couple of inches (I'm short, and these are my problems), it was on. I realise that I'm a very lucky person to receive clothes from brands, and I think through what I receive on the basis of a) will it suit me? and b) try something new, that hopefully will help you guys make a decision as to whether you want to try it out as well. You can't blame a girl for trying, but I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on maxi dresses. I feel like it makes me look even shorter than I already am (remember those problems? This is another), but it makes a welcome change from mini skirts and skinny jeans. Who knows, maybe I'll be eating my words and be a full-on maxi dress convert by the end of summer... Maybe.
