Hello, is it sports luxe you're looking for? Even if it may seem like the person asking the question is spam call number 23 of the day (and it's only 10am), I think I might have just found the perfect way to dip my toe into a trend I've been avoiding just as much as the gym.

I've been living in my Spezials since nabbing them in an outlet store in Braintree Freeport, but I'd never really tapped into anything more sporty since. Much like my attitude to dating, there's not all that much point in wasting my time of something that's not going to work out until I find 'the one'. Thankfully, there's proof true love exists as I found this monochrome badboy on the House of Fraser site. It's a bit bodycon, it's a bit colour blocky, and it's a whole lotta need-this-in-my wardrobe perfect. It might not be something I pop on for a trip down the shops, but it definitely held up for a day of coffee, then afternoon tea, then cocktails in Shoreditch. Perfect first date, all things considered.

Unless you've been hiding under a rock and don't follow Oasis on Instagram and Twitter (they're worth a follow, promise ;) ), you might not be aware that we've put our own little spin on the american classic. For once in my life I'm not talking about burgers, even if I did go to Five Guys last night - Oasis teamed up with Keds to create the prettiest pairs of trainers I ever did see. With four different styles to choose from, the English Rose seemed pretty apt for this pale-face, and they've seen me through plenty of hours of events running up and down the stairs at Argyll Street filming a flash mob or two with zero blisters to speak of - toes thumbs up all round!

And if under that aforementioned rock there's no Instagram, this'll be the first set of cherry blossom photos you've seen this year. Most people, however, are probably sick of the pastel pick blooms by now, but how could I resist popping along to Hylands Park whilst the blossom's in full bloom and my new favourite accessories are the shade to match? Wasted opportunity, this was not.

Southend is one of those places I tend to forget how much I love till I visit again. Although it offers a pretty good Monday night out, it's probably more famous for its pier, Adventure Island and Rossi's ice cream - nothing beats it! My mum and I popped over a couple of weekends ago on a whim and treated ourselves to a stroll along the estuary and, of course!, some fish and chips at the end of the day. There's nothing quite like a trip to the seaside to lift your spirits, and I just couldn't help but make the most of the day trip by taking some outfit photos, even if I do look rather windswept. Even though I'm no queen of the bardot neckline Dunya, I've found myself drawn to the shape quite a lot recently, and I snapped up this bargain top for a tenner on asos. Are you a fan of the trend?

Today has been considerably less cute, and I'm currently sat nursing a rather persistent hangover which even a trip to Nando's hasn't seemed to fix. I'm about to make my first cup of tea of the day to try and ward it off before settling down to catch up with blogs and youtube to round off the weekend - happy Sunday!

It looks like taking photos at this sunflower field may become an annual tradition, and I am totally okay with that when it means that I can come home with locally grown blooms which perk up my early morning starts during the week. After lunch breaks perusing the rails at House of Hackney and reading Kim's blog, I've been pretty determined to work some tropical palm prints into my wardrobe, and whilst the HoH palm print dream remains up that pipe, I'm more than happy to take things the midi way with this beautiful Dotty P skirt from House of Fraser (and it's only £22, tell me that's not a bargain). I'm planning to wear it with my new black Bardot neckline top next time, but I think it works rather well with this hot pink silk vest top I picked up in a charity shop a couple of years ago, don't you think? Add in some more thrifty finds, and you've got a pretty me~ outfit, if on a rather girly day.

I prepped in true Cohen style for these photos by eating a massive two course meal at a pub down the road, and would truly recommend the seafood sharing platter if you're planning to head to a chef and brewer pub any time soon - those whitebait, you won't regret it. Finished off with a passionfruit cider and catching some rays in the beer garden, I really don't think that Saturdays come much better than this.

And when he does his little rounds round the boutiques of London town.

Although my mother and I have our differences (namely about the definition of "late"), there are some things we have in common. Okay, the photos are very clearly of a handbag (from this post) and a bread bin, which don't often bear similarities, but they're both designed under the name of Biba. Today you can buy Biba from House of Fraser, but in my mum's day it was Kensington Church Street which housed the clothing brand.

When Biba was first around it was a bit different to today. To buy clothes that your mum wouldn't be seen dead in (soz ma, my skirt is that short), you had to get the train to High Street Kensington. You could walk down to Kensington market to get your Marc Bolan tees, but if you continued a bit further and turned right onto Church Street you'd find Bus Stop and Biba. Bus Stop, I am reliably informed, was filled with amazing tea dresses and floral blouses, but was ruled over by fearsome shop assistants who stood on chairs by the till to catch out shoplifters in the packed space. Further down the road, Biba was a kind of haven. It was a different world, where every item of clothing you could possibly want to own was to be found hung up in the corner, and you could go out on Saturday and never see anyone else in the same thing. From a boutique the size of a kitchen, it expanded into the empty Derry and Toms department store, and sold everything from ball gowns to, um, loo roll. I used to sneak into Waterstones and read the Biba book for the photos of the amazing art deco restaurant, because it sadly no longer exists as it expanded way too quickly for it to survive. My mum's favourite piece was a red satin jacket which she has since, unfortunately for me, donated to a charity shop, but you can always see original bits pop up on ebay all the time.

Although I could talk about Biba for hours on end (trust me, this is a very condensed version of the draft in my head), I'll just let you know about A Party With Biba being hosted at House of Fraser stores this Thursday 12th. There'll be a champagne reception in their Oxford Street store to showcase the new collection and there'll be a tote bag thrown in for purchases over £75. I've got my eye on this perfect Chung coat, but it's hardly like I need any more excuses to look like I've walked out of the 'sixties.
