Barry had a record store.

Oasis stripy top: £18 (incl. staff discount). Vintage mom jeans. Oasis Camden chelsea boots: £40.80 (incl. staff discount). Brit Stitch half pint. Little Nell key necklace.

When you're a few lemsip down, have multiple packets of tissues on the go and you've had to save your make up due to a sneezing post-mascara scenario (am I the only one?), it's not time to start pulling on your fanciest frock. Instead, go for the most-worn and fail-safe combination in your wardrobe: stripes and denim. Hey, you may not be Françoise Hardy wearing stripes in, um, a bush, but it's a notable step up from pyjamas, so we all know who's winning here. Add in some brand new chelsea boots, nail varnish that feels a billion times brighter than you do and some layers very close to hand, and you've got yourself a leaving the house situation.

Due to rail replacement (can I have a "hell no"), my mum and I decided to head to Billericay so that I could avoid the seventies on wheels for one leg of my journey to Waterloo. Billericay, of Gavin and Stacey fame, is one of those towns I never seem to visit, despite the joy it can provide. I went relatively recently for dinner and drinks with friends, but it was the first time I'd seen the high street in daylight for years, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a record shop come café with Mayer Hawthorne posters and plenty of cake. We whiled away the afternoon with cups of tea and eavesdropping conversations ("...and that's when he pulled on his coat and left the courtroom!") before receiving a whatsapp saying everyone was similarly ill and it was perfectly ok to return home, put the PJs back on and tune in to Take Me Out.

Till next rail replacement, Billericay - see you next weekend.

Stella Proseyn dress: borrowed from Kelsi. Vintage leather jacket: £17.50. Karen Millen heeled boots: £15, via sample sale (they're these ones but with a square toe). Little Nell necklace.

I certainly have my moments with blogging (but I also have my moments with black tea, later deciding that any health benefits of green tea aren't worth it, so I'm sticking this one out for the meantime), but the one thing I've always been rather happy about is how I've met so many people I wouldn't otherwise have ever bumped into, as I certainly wouldn't have made the journeys to Battersea, Birmingham or Bromley without a little bit of their encouragement. A couple of Sundays ago I spent the evening in the company of Jazz and her friend Kelsi over from LA for London Fashion Week in a beautiful apartment with an even more beautiful view tucking into American treats and chatting about anything and everything that popped into our heads.

Kelsi's the lady behind the LA Fashion Council and had travelled over with a suitcase full of home-grown designers' pieces - of course I couldn't resist taking one of them out for a spin! This Stella Proseyn shift dress is like wearing a sweater from top to toe (or from shoulders to mid-thigh?) and is made from a beautiful quilted material with a slight shimmer, which earns a double thumbs up from me. I couldn't resist putting my own little spin on it with leather and silver accents, perfect for a day in the office - and maybe after-work drinks! Looks like I've got more plans to make...

I'm not wasting no more time.

And that's my lesson learned: never take photos during a hurricane.

As I no longer work with bloggers and wouldn't dream of asking any of my colleagues to take outfit photos on our lunch breaks, it means I'm now just left with the weekend for getting my camera out. I go through phases with blogging. As Helen pointed out in her "truths about blogging" post, it's hardly surprising that sometimes I adore this little (and it is little, not that I'm complaining, it means the pressure's off!) blog, and at other times I truly despair with it. When I started out, a blog post would take me all of fifteen minutes, from winking into my webcam to wonkily uploading them into blogger. Over time, my focus has changed as things naturally do, and my like for taking photos ended up in investing in a DSLR with money I'd earned from a collaboration, and pushing myself to learn what things like ISO and aperture mean. I know that I'm not aesthetically your typical blogger and I truly don't mind that, instead focusing on the bit I find the most fun and rewarding.

I'm sure you've noticed that since I've been back in the UK things here have definitely become more lifestyle focussed, and that's a conscious effort to try and move this blog from personal style (there are only so many times I want to see my face in a day, so I can't imagine what it's like for you guys) to something more personal. So when I've spent a Sunday meeting up with friends and running errands in town, coming home to a flooded background and gale force winds means that I don't quite get what the standard of photos I aim for, and I am without the opportunity to try again. I did consider assigning these photos to the deep dark pit of my laptop, but sometimes it's nice to see that bloggers aren't just the result of three instagram filters and a good angle. I fully intend to photograph this again in better conditions, but I thought it might be of worth to share something that's not quite right because I'm not letting the effort of putting eyeshadow on my waterline go to waste.

I heard the truth was built to bend.

Oasis floral denim dress: £5, via sample sale. Vintage bag: 50p. Clarks two tone sandals: c/o Cloggs. Little Nell key necklace. Ralph Lauren sunglasses. Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet: gift. Rotary watch: gift.

Another Saturday, another pub lunch (FYI, this time I went for a burger instead of fish and chips, and only realised that I hadn't photographed it when I was halfway through. Tough luck, pals). Yesterday we were told to make the most of the sunny weather as Bertha's due to have her stormy ways today, so we vowed to spend as much of the day outside as we possibly could. Sandals were a must, but I fancied a change after wearing my asos ones to death, and debuted my new Clarks ones from Cloggs. I like the patent toes on these ones, which make them slightly more transitional than my woven pair, and they look a lot, dare I say it?, classier to boot (clearly got chelsea boots on the brain, despite the weather...). I do need to wear them in, but Clarks shoes will always be comfy, so these two will be sticking around for a while.

Since I started at Oasis, I've found myself surrounded by pretty prints and girly cuts, and it seems to be slowly making its way into my wardrobe. Of course, a sample sale is going to help that along nicely, and this denim dress was the first thing I picked up when confronted with a car park full of rails - fate, amirite? I don't think it ever made its way into stores so I've picked out some similar styles below because I'm not that much of a tease, but I love the muted floral print of this one and the shape may even tempt me out of smock dress territory on special days.

Also, that penultimate photo features what looks like a rabbit in the tree bark. Yes. Yes it does.

Well, that's that. Friday was my last day at Stylight, and it'll be weird waking up tomorrow and not get the U bahn to Maillingerstraße. In the grand scheme of things, six months is absolutely nothing at all, but by the end of my time there I felt like such a part of the team and an honorary Münchnerin that it's going to be weird to head back to the UK next week (don't worry, I've still got a couple of Munich posts to come, you haven't seen the last of it quite yet!). So here's a little shout out, however cringe it may be, to Martijn, Stina, Nina, Willemijn, and Charlee (who has a lovely blog here) and all the other wonderful people I've met along the way, I'd never have learnt to like beer and drink it in maß-ive (hehe) proportions without you. It's not 100% concrete what I'm doing when I get home other than having proper fish and chips, so help a sister out if you're hiring - I make a dead good cuppa. I'm currently undecided as to whether I'll write a round up style post like I posted before I moved here, so if you've got any questions about my Stylight internship, feel free to tweet or email me and I'll happily answer anything from moving to Munich to what I did on a day to day basis to interning at Stylight.

Plus, for your delectation, here are some completely unrelated outfit photos.

Okay, I'll admit it, these photos are complete rip offs of Carmen's and Anni's, but when you have somewhere this cool literally just outside your office (one of the conference rooms is just to the left of these photos), then it'd be silly to not use it to your advantage. Or I'm just getting lazier when it comes to finding somewhere to take outfit photos. And, let's be honest, it's probably the latter.

I used to be a real Topshop girl when I was a student and rich (i.e. either had a part time job or a loan, plus student discount), but since its prices have risen and they add a good 15% for the novelty of paying in Euros, I've found myself looking further afield. My mum got me this blouse for christmas, and I've been saving it for a special occasion of sorts, so when the sun decided to shine I thought it was about time I debuted it.

In less sartorial news, I've managed to drag myself away from bed to get to the office to use their wifi as the router at mine's been playing up. Again. I would mind significantly less if Lauren and I hadn't decided to drink a lot of cocktails and end up in Atomic Cafe till closing time and I'd managed to get more than four hours sleep. That's dedication to getting myself into a blogging routine, if ever I saw it. I didn't choose the thug life, the thug life chose me.

You know you've been talking to Kavita too much when you order a pair of frames like these ;) If you're a long-time reader of It's Cohen/a long-suffering friend, you'll be more than aware of my love for novelty sunglasses with normal outfits. This Persunmall pair is no different, and I can see them coming with me in many a beach bag and festival rucksack - yes pals, you're going to have to be seen with me I'm afraid. I think I've managed to tone things down with a completely monochrome outfit and a slick of red lipstick this time, and I didn't receive too many odd looks from my colleagues as I rolled up to work that morning.

Recently things have been getting a little stressful as I try to sort out how I'm going to transport everything I've accumulated back to the UK, cancel phone contracts and bank accounts, and just generally everything involved with ending a job. The perfect way to take the edge off things and forget about it all was with roughly twelve hours of solid drinking at Frühlingsfest (think Oktoberfest, but with less tourists), and finally found the excuse to wear my dirndl! I'm feeling a little sniffly as a result, but there really is nothing better than getting involved and going on fair ground rides in traditional German dress, and don't tell me that there is.

And, if you're feeling particularly reckless today, I'd appreciate a vote in the "best personal style blog" at the Company blog awards. I don't expect a look-in in the slightest, but it would be nice!
