You know a place is pretty special to you when you look this happy after a good four hours on trains. A couple of weekends ago, I headed up north to Liverpool for the first time since my graduation - I blame Munich. It was weird heading back and seeing nuances on a city I knew like the back of my hand, but following Independent Liverpool on pretty much every platform and keeping in touch with my favourite scousers meant that it still had that incredibly homely feeling.

First things first, Jade met me off the train and whisked me off for a hearty breakfast at the Moon and Pea on Lark Lane. She's nice and wears a lot of Zara that I'm not cool enough to be able to keep free of tea stains, so I'd recommend giving her blog a stalk. We did, of course, make time for outfit photos, and she showed me a pastel version of these townhouses - certainly helps to get a little bit of insider knowledge.

After a walk round Sefton Park, I headed off to meet my friends (and the bride to be!) for a lot of wine, italian food, and dancing to the spice girls. I thankfully forgot my camera by the time this happened, but I can honestly say that I haven't laughed so much in such a long time, and I'm glad I was only there for a weekend as I would have developed abs had I been there any longer. It did, however, come to an end, and a traditional breakfast at Cuthbert's was had (duh). There was even time for a quick cuppa at LEAF before my train home, where I managed to pick up one of their "where there's tea there's hope" teapots to have a scouser's brew in from the comfort of my Essex home. Thankfully London's keeping me more than busy, and stopping me from missing this incredible city too much, but I'm sure I'll get the itch to jump back on a train before long.

Dress: £30, vintage. Shoes: 50p, Russell and Bromley via ebay. Bag: £4, vintage.

This dress was my first "proper" vintage item of clothing. It was actually featured in my first blog post, long reverted to a draft, as something I wore to the seaside for a mother's day outing over three years ago. I don't wear it too much, as generally my love for tomato pasta sauces and white clothing doesn't mix too well, but I thought my final (for now) trip to Liverpool was a big enough occasion to wrestle it out of my wardrobe. Paired with my favourite straw bag, and trusty black pumps, it was the perfect outfit for a wander round the shops and a trip to Byron. I kept the ketchup as far away as possible.

I've been having a think about my blog, and although I do like posting outfit photos and the occasional bit of film photography, I was wondering whether you would be interested in reading about my best charity shop finds, or something similar? Just an idea! Don't worry, I've got plenty more outfit photos ready. And the next one features ducks.

You're now reading the blog of Rebecca Cohen, BA (Hons)! On Thursday I went to the robing room (yep) to collect this bad boy, and found myself sitting in the Philharmonic ready for my few seconds on stage to collect that little bit of paper that sums up three years of hard work. Sitting alongside some of the most talented people I know, the hall was filled with proud friends and family congratulating their gowned companions, and my hands were more than a little sore after about three hours of solid applause. After the ceremony had finished, without any literal slip ups which I'd been worrying about happening for months, my mum and I managed to grab a few outfit snaps on Abercromby Square - the location of the English offices, just outside the Sydney Jones Library. Of course my friends and I had to grab a couple of typical throwing our mortar boards in the air photos before splitting up to meet our families for food (I went to one of my favourite independent restaurants, The Quarter, for a vegetarian sharing board, and prawn and chorizo pasta). That evening we checked into a budget hotel (the less said about that the better) to prep for our last night out together as students. Suitable amounts of jรคgerbombs and egg fried rice later, we were ready to collapse. Groggy the next morning, it was sad to pack up all our belongings and wish each other a temporary goodbye, but it feels pretty darn fantastic to have graduated in such good company.

Best of luck to everyone else who's graduating (or has graduated!) in the next few weeks - congratulations!

Blouse: £6, vintage via Ark. Denim circle skirt: £28.50, American Apparel. Denim jacket: £63, Hobbs. Scarf: £1, charity shop. Shoes: 50p, Russell and Bromley. Jewellery: gifts. Belt: 20p, charity shop. Bag: gift from Jazmine. Lips: Topshop Mischief.

Considering it had been on my must do list since I found out you could, it took me till my last week in Liverpool to go to the top of the Anglican cathedral and see the city from its blustery heights. Somehow managing to stay on our feet, Sita, Amy and I headed up there on a clear day and gave our fair city a farewell from above. It's so odd to see where you live (cue "I can see my house!!" shouts) from such a different angle, but it doesn't half make me miss it when I scroll through all my photos. Perhaps a beehive wasn't the best idea for going somewhere so exposed, but after a trip to the toilets, past an Emin, we managed to snap these outfit photos in the beautiful grounds. The graveyard there is quite different to Pรจre Lachaise which I visited last Wednesday, but the stone-lined passageways tell their own stories. I guess that's a bit of an odd (if perhaps relevant) last outfit post from Liverpool, but it shows how varied the city can be - from green Sefton Park to cool, steel shop fronts. Although I miss it and its perfect locations, I guess you'll have to make do with some Isle of Wight and Paris based posts for now!

The finest clothes that you can find.

Silky collar tee: £18, American Apparel. Shorts: £69, Carven via Cricket. Denim jacket: £63, Hobbs. Shoes: 50p, Russell and Bromley via ebay. Satchel: Stylistpick. Watch: Rotary. Necklace: gift. Phone case: 99p, ebay. Lipstick: Topshop Mischief.

Who could possibly resist matching their nail varnish, phone case, and location? Magazines like to call it a "pop of colour", but I tend to call it a coincidence that Jazmine pointed out as we were strolling down Rodney Street. This isn't the most exciting outfit ever, I know, but I don't wear new things every day, and as this is one of my typical everyday outfits it only makes sense to document it.

Although this was photographed in Liverpool (one last one coming for you soon), I'm back home in Essex and acclimatising myself to the Southern temperatures and no internet (sob!). Everything's a bit up in the air at the moment, what with trying to move house, trying to find a job, and trying to learn how to draw on symmetrical eyebrows, but I'm sure we'll get there at some point. In the meantime I'll be sure to content myself with plenty of orange juice and afternoons spent reading the books I never got round to in the garden. I hope you've all got a lot planned for this weekend, let's hope it stays sunny!
